420 J2
A general purpose stainless steel containing medium quantities of carbon.  It has good strength and reasonable impact resistant properties in both hardened and tempered conditions as compared to 440 grades.

440 Stainless Steel
This is a high carbon martensitic stainless with moderate corrosion resistance good strength and the ability to obtain and keep excellent hardness (Rc 60) and wear resistance.
